The Deepest Well – Nadine Burke Harris

The Deepest Well: Healing the Long-Term Effects of Childhood Adversity by Nadine Burke Harris is a fantastic book that is full of information on childhood stress and its connection to long-term negative health problems. It is so important to understand the lasting impact of childhood trauma. She writes:

“Children are compelled to give meaning to what is happening to them. When there is no clear explanation, they make one up; the intersection of trauma and the developmentally appropriate egocentrism of childhood often leads a little kid to think, I made it happen.”

I have included links below to her website, interviews, a book review, and her TED talk.
