The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work – Gottman and Silverman

I have read many books on relationship and one that I recommend it The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide From the Country’s Foremost Relationship Expert by John Gottman, PhD and Nana Silverman.  In his book he discusses the follow 7 principles for making a marriage work.

7 Principles for Making Marriage Work:

  • Enhance your love maps
  • Nurture fondness and admiration
  • Turn toward each other (rather than against or away)
  • Let you partner influence you
  • Solve your solvable problems
  • Overcome gridlock
  • Create shared meaning

This book may be helpful if you are struggling in you partnership, marriage, and some of these principles can even be helpful if you are having a difficult time with your boss or co-worker. I have included the link to The Gottman Institute below for more information.
